In the Studio With Susan English

Poured abstract works on paper

Go in the studio with artist Susan English as she experiments with non-porous Yupo paper, and creates luminous and evocative surfaces. The New York Times has described her work as “sublime” and “buoyant.”

In this new series of abstract paintings, English has created a body of work that captures the light and the quiet meditative quality of the moment.

Says English, “One of the beauties of working on paper is how incredibly light it is. Sometimes things happen that give me ideas for my next work, and that element of surprise is very engaging.”
