Annette Davidek’s organic abstractions are painted on birch panel with multiple glazes of oil paint.  Botanical forms such as petals, flowers, tendrils and fronds are painted repeatedly in an abstract format with jewel-like colors, lending the works a decorative yet very luminous and intricate quality.  Ghosted images appear and disappear beneath transparent layers of pigment. The veiling of colors produces a dramatic depth of field, while the floating compositions keep the pieces light.
